(Re)Orientation Program for Student Comments Seven students (four from Coe and three from Monmouth) attended this program along with five faculty from both institutions. Students were asked to evaluate this program and make suggestions for improvement. Here are their comments. What I liked best / Suggestions for Improvement *I think discussing the practical concerns was very valuable to the programs purpose. Also the opportunity to talk to people who have been through the process is appreciated. The ambassador idea also appealed to me for I need all the cash I can get. *Good opportunity to meet new people in a nice cozy place to talk *It’s a good chance to meet other students who study at another college. Also, it was a good opportunity to think about problem and concerns which will come up when we go abroad. *Just talking answering and asking questions is the best way to learn about the experience. *Having different perspectives from people who have traveled abroad and are here traveling abroad. The discussion topics were appropriate and insightful. *Everything ran smoothly the ambassadors’ idea was good *Visiting Monmouth College *Relaxed environment made it easier to ask questions and get answers you are searching. The experienced students provided fruitful comments and knowledge. *Possibility of monetary supplement for “presentation” etc while over seas Improvements (what I didn’t like?) *We could have done a better job personalizing the experience more to where we were actually going and the understanding of that particular culture, but that would require a larger and more diverse group. *Took too long the same could have been done in 2-3 hours *The shaping of expectations would be helpful. What to expect for the curriculum would also have been helpful. *I would have thought that I would have been able to meet other foreign student here *Maybe recently abroad students could email you a list of (fyi) with info for students going abroad and add it to the packet in the (generic survival tips) *I would like to see more people participate from other colleges. The more perspectives you can get the better. *The students who have already went should run it more it would be better related to the students going. *I wanted to meet more international student from Monmouth, more of a meeting related to international issues. *I wanted to meet more international student from Monmouth, more of a meeting related to international issues.
