MC's Boswell wins Far
& Near Travel contest
Not only did Adrienne
Boswell of Riverdale get an education in
Spain last semester, upon her return the
Monmouth College senior was named the
winner of Far & Near Travel's annual
poster contest.
Students who have participated in the
college's study abroad program are
eligible to enter the contest sponsored by
the Monmouth travel group. Upon their
return, the students are encouraged to
create a poster depicting their off-campus
experience, and the posters are then
judged by Monmouth College faculty with
the winner receiving a gift certificate.
Boswell's first place
poster, along with the other entries, will
be on display through Dec. 10 at Far &
Near at the travel agency located at 223
South First Street.
"We love being able to display the
students posters," said Kari Painter
of Far & Near. "It's a real
pleasure to be able to help the students
with their travels."
The off-campus study program at Monmouth
College enables students to explore
different perspectives of a global
community. In order to be selected for
off-campus study, a student must submit an
application to the curriculum committee.
An education/Spanish major, Boswell is the
daughter of Lemuel and Linda Boswell of
Calumet Park.
