It is now technologically possible to make plastics from using green plants rather than non-renewable resources. The main source in the production of plastics is crude oil, and other petroleum products. The concept of creating plastics from the renewable resource (plants) is very exciting because it may provide relief to the global energy crisis regarding the depletion of fossil fuels. Although there are many possible benefits associated with the production of “green plastics,” there are concerns associated with the efficiency of the process itself.
