Why Join Pi Phi?
When you meet a Pi Phi, you realize immediately that there's something unique about her. There's an unmatched level of integrity and commitment to excellence, and a general aura of potential that sets this person apart from the pack. That's because she's a Pi Phi through and through and a member of a premier organization for women. We have a long, rich history that is steeped in tradition and values, and the ideals set forth by our Founders are what we still live by today.

Still Wondering...
Hello! My name is Rachelle Olson, and I am currently serving as Vice President of Membership for the Illinois Alpha Chapter of Pi Beta Phi. Pi Beta Phi, founded on this campus over 100 years ago, has been a large part of many college girl's experiences. Other than providing many philanthropies (community service projects) for you to join in on, you become close, if not best friends, with over 50 girls! Pi Phi is a home away from home for many girls, and is truly a once in a lifetime experience! Here at Monmouth, Pi Phi's are involved all across the board-from swimming to basketball, S.O.S. to Student Senate. For me, Pi Phi has helped me overcome fears, and grow as a person in more ways than one! Not only do you generate lifelong friendships, but you gain time management, and a sense of self satisfaction. Pi Phi opens a lot of doors for young women, and creates bonds between sisters that will never be broken. Pi Phi is a fun, energetic, diverse, and loving sorority that continues to shine. I hope to see you at Recruitment this fall, so you can see for yourself!!
A Former New Member's Perspective...
Hi Girls! My name is Anne, and I was just initiated into Pi Phi the Fall of 2005. Being a Pi Phi has been one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life, but more important than being a Pi Phi was the process of learning that Pi Phi was the right choice for me, and that I was the right choice for Pi Phi. Recruitment was great because I got to know all the girls of each sorority and all the other girls going through the recruitment process. The week of recruitment is so busy, and sometimes it can be a little overwhelming, but it’s a great way to meet people and is a ton of fun. Recruitment is all about being yourself and finding the place where you feel most comfortable. You really do have to follow your heart as you go to all the parties and make your final preferences. Keep in mind that everyone has her own experience during recruitment, and each individual experience can be equally amazing. Just enjoy the week and have fun. You know what is best for you, so trust your instincts and the decisions you make. My sisters and I can’t wait to meet you during recruitment!
Are you a parent and wondering if a sorority is right for your daughter? Read this parent's perspective...
Hello. My name is Mary Auliff Havens. I am a graduate of Monmouth College, a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and the mother of the former President of the Illinois Alpha Chapter of Pi Beta Phi. Three years ago I encouraged Amanda to become involved in Recruitment, and investigate membership in a women's Greek society. I felt it was a great way to meet new students and possibly establish lifelong ties. I have been impressed by the opportunities for service Amanda has experienced, as well as the emphasis on academics that Pi Phi encourages. I know that Amanda has developed strong ties with her sisters and as she begins her senior year I am proud of how she has matured. Please encourage your daughter to attend Recruitment activities. There is much to gain as she experiences "what college was meant to be" at Monmouth College.
