Hello and Welcome! My name is Dejuan
Martez Listenbee and I am currently a Junior at
Monmouth College. I am
majoring in Communication with a concentration in Media and Public Relations.
During my college experience I
have been involved in numerous of activities to help me experience
the best of college. Some of these activities include, Intercultural
Life Programming, membership in the Coalition for Ethnic Awareness,
and service to my major department as a CATA Departmental Media Technology Assistant,
MC Television, and Sports.
Well here's little about me, I am one of the few
minorities on campus. I had to adjust a lot when I moved to
Monmouth College. I was very independent in just about everything, until
football helped me get to know a lot of people. I started to hang out
with people and meet new people everyday. Sports have been in my life
for some time now. I have played sports all my life its. Playing sports
has taught me lots of things that people just couldn't come close to
teaching me. They taught me leadership on and off the field, ways to
communicate with people verbally and non-verbally, discipline, how to
work as a team, but most of all how to succeed in life. Being here at
Monmouth has taught me most of these things also.
Why I chose to be a Communication Major, I'm still
asking myself that one. I want to be able to communicate with everyone
and learn how to speak in front of large crowds. I want to leave
Monmouth College knowing that I can communicate with anyone giving me
the choice from young kids to old adults. I want to be able enjoy my
future with something that I feel I know I can succeed in overall.
