Dream as if you'll live
forever,
Live as if you'll die tomorrow.
James Dean
There is a theory called dead stroke.
This theory originally applied to pool; it describes
when a person is completely focused and almost
becomes one with what he is doing. This is what I
want out of life. I want to be able to have a career where on a day
to day basis I am performing at the top level.
"I don't care -
brick-laying can be great if a guy knows. If he
knows what he's doin' and why and if he can make it
come off... 'Cause he's got everything workin' for
him - timing, touch. It's a great feeling, boy -
it's a real great feeling - when you're right and
you know you're right..."
Paul Newman as "Fast" Eddie Felsen in "The Hustler"
Life is too short to go out into this wide world of
ours and work a job simply because it is a job. I
want to be able to use my talent and my knowledge to
create something or do something that I love and I
know I can do well. I want to be able to go see
things and do things that take me out of the mundane
routine of life that seems to bog humanity down. I
want to learn from what I do as much as I put into
it. This includes going to graduate school, perhaps
just for night classes or maybe a few years down the
road. Education and development are important to me
and I want to see it in my future.
My goal
for after college is to enjoy life. To keep building
on to what I have learned, to keep and understand my
responsibilities, to work and to enjoy it knowing I
am one of the best; these are things I want out of
life and what I am always keeping in my vision and
working towards. |
