An Exploration of Attitudes

 

INFORMED CONSENT

 

The study in which you are about to participate is being conducted by Randi A. Shedlosky and Jon E. Grahe at Monmouth College, Illinois, and has been approved by the Human Subjects Review Board of Monmouth College.

 

The purpose of this experiment is to explore how college students react to different opinions regarding homosexuals in the military and file sharing. You will be asked to read one message, regarding one of the issues, and complete three questionnaires after reading the message. The views expressed in the messages are not the opinions of the institution or of the researchers. Your responses are confidential, and there will be no way of matching your responses back to you or back to this informed consent.

 

Please understand that your participation in this research is completely voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time during the study without penalty. Your participation in this survey in no way influences the relationship between you and Monmouth College as an institution.
