Overview
At Monmouth College, we strive to create a culture of
active and engaged students through student-faculty collaborative
scholarship, as well as independent student-driven initiatives. We
believe that such efforts will encourage original, creative work that
models disciplinary ways of knowing.
Throughout the year, many
Monmouth College student and faculty are involved in scholarly
activities. We would like for you to keep in touch! How can you
do this you say? Well…by creating a blog.
There are a couple of reasons for you to do this:
- to highlight and recognize your work,
- to share skills, events, experiences, and insight
gained through your experience,
- to communicate the benefits of
these
opportunities, and
- to allow prospective students to see what MC
students are doing with their time outside of the classroom.
All you have to do to get started is
click on the How to Get Started link in the gray navigation bar
on the left side of the page and read how to start a blog…it is very easy to do. Once you have
your blog setup, send your name and blog site URL to Marcie Beintema (marcie@monm.edu)
and she will add your name to this website.
If you would, please keep in mind a few things:
- This is a “work” related blog, and not the
appropriate venue for personal life issues. This is NOT Facebook.
- The intent is to communicate with peers, faculty,
administrators, trustees, and prospective students on the topic of
your scholarly activities. Please make entries in a professional
manner, be respectful, and proudly represent Monmouth College.
Topics to consider writing about:
- Please start your blog with a quick entry about
how you arrived at your current location. This is a very important
topic for those who would like to have similar experiences in the
future.
- Where you’re working and who are you working
with?
- What kind of daily activities are you involved
in?
- What new skills you’re picking up?
- What has surprised you the most?
- And if possible, please post pictures!!!
We can’t wait to hear about
all you are accomplishing!
