MC TO ENTER THE MOCK TRIAL REALM

As advertised, Monmouth College's Mock Trial team will compete this season. The initial plan for the fall, is for the team to travel to two tournaments as observers. There are also plans to bring in local trial lawyers to assist the team in their early development.

"We're thrilled that this new program is starting," said President Kathryn Thompson, about the new Mock Trial team, which will be headed by the Executive Board of Scotspeak during this first year.

The team will compete at the Model Illinois Government conference in Springfield, this coming February and may possibly compete in the fall or early winter, depending on their progress.

"We want them to take their time and just gradually ease into the program, so that next year, they'll be well prepared and raring to go out there," said Ron Bronson, who plans to help the team in its initial stages.
