*TNT Involvement Center

The grand opening took place on Tues. Feb 2, 1999 at noon in Stockdale Center, lower level. This is THE place for people to find out more information about all the organizations on campus, volunteer opportunities, and other ways to get INVOLVED!  The community is invited to phone in their requests for volunteer help at 309/457-2308.

*Habitat For Humanity

This committee offers students the opportunity to work on building and renovating houses in the Monmouth area through the Warren County chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

*Alternative Spring Break

Alternative spring break trips allow students an opportunity to enjoy the satisfaction of volunteer service to a community and to experience the community’s culture. This year (2006) a trip is planned for Oklahoma. Last year’s trip to North Carolina was a success! For more information contact involvement@monm.edu.

*Special Community Activities

Opportunities abound for service through special community activities. These include organizing events to directly benefit lower income families in the Monmouth area, working with the Warren Achievement Center, and work with local church youth groups. Services provided by S.O.S. through these activities help to strengthen the relationship between Monmouth College and the community. These activities includes: YMCA Halloween Party and the Special Olympics Tootsie Roll Drive.

*Blood Drives

Helping to coordinate Blood Drives means you participate in giving the gift of life. Two Blood Drives are scheduled this year in September and April. Volunteers are needed not only to donate blood, but also to help the Red Cross folks unload their equipment at the beginning of each day and reload equipment when the drive is over.

*Additional Opportunities

Is there a service opportunity not listed here that you would be willing to provide? What about a food drive? What about adopting a grandparent at one of the local nursing homes?

S. O. S. is the place to come if you want to volunteer! We want you and your ideas! With your help, we can really make a difference! Come on! Get involved!  Contact the Involvement Center NOW!!!
