Minutes from Tuesday Sept. 29 SOS meeting:

-Crop walk--Sunday Oct. 11at 1:30, if you would like to walk and

collect donations you can still get an envelope from Amy

-After-school club--Harding School, Mon-Thurs. from 3:15 to

4:30 --Kim Perham is now the coordinator!!! She needs lots of

volunteers--Education majors this looks really good on resumes!

They are starting this Mon. 5, call her if you need a ride or have

any questions--3513

-Dave Giles--Students helping students--Orientation session on

Tuesday Oct. 6 at Harding school from 4:00 to 4:45, if you

cannot attend, contact Kim P.

-Sig Ep party--Nov. 14--SOS is doing the publicity--Need a can of

food/article of clothing to get in

-Lincoln Homes Tutoring--Mon.-Fri from 4:00 to 5:30(do not have

to go everyday) if you were unable to attend orientation on Wed.,

and would like to get involved--contact Amy Higgins--3432

The kids need positive role models, so please volunteer!!!!

-Sunshine Club--every Mon. from 6 to 7 at Lincoln Homes, kids

ages 4 to 12--contact Amy H.

-Friends for Seniors--Amy D will contact the people who signed

up, call her with any questions--3526

-Habitat for Humanity--They do not have any projects right now,

but will in the spring

But .....Harding School has many things that need repaired

and painted so we will be helping with that!

-Alternative Spring Break--came up with fund raising ideas: Sell

raffle tickets at Knox game, tootsie roll/blow pop drive, car wash,

bake sale, fund raising fair on a Sat with lots of activities such as

dunk tank, Family Feud game

---Christmas ornaments with Monmouth College emblem and

date, have already ordered, hopefully they will be here in time to

sell them at the Homecoming Game!!!!

-Solid Rock--program at Fairview Center Methodist Church for

children grades K-6

Starting Oct 6--every Tuesday from 3:30 to 5--please contact

Trisha Foster--3402 if you would like to help--Again this is great

for education majors and anyone who loves kids!!:)
