Monmouth had to come from behind on the second day to win its third straight indoor and fifth consecutive overall track & field team title at Knox. Down 40 points with seven events left, the Scots strung together five first-place efforts and set a league record in the final event, the 4x400 relay, to squeak past Carroll. Chris Sondgeroth won his second shot put title and six different men won races on the track, including freshman Brian Houzenga who set an MWC record in the 200 meters. Seniors Brian Woodard (200 hurdles) and Clinton Tarpley (800m) were among the Monmouth winners. |
