Monmouth rolled to its first-ever MWC team championship by dominating the 8000-meter race from the gun. The Fighting Scots swept the first 4 places and 5 of the first 9 in scoring a team-record low 19 points. It was the second-lowest score in MWC history and the first time in 22 years one team had taken the first four spots. Junior Jamie Verstraete won Monmouth's second individual title and junior Frank Schweda placed second for the second straight year. Senior Matt Jenkins, junior Joel Eckberg and freshman Jamie Nelson closed out the Scots' top five with Jenkins earning his third All-Conference honor. |
