The women's team has steadily improved its record under Mann, from 5-17 in the 1992-93 season to 12-10 in 1995-96, the first winning season in four years, and qualified for the Midwest Conference postseason tournament for the first time in the history of the program. VANESSA MACCALLUM begins her first season as an assistant coach in basketball after being hired in the summer of 1998 as the Fighting Scots' head softball coach.
