With over 140 years of Greek Life tradition Monmouth College fraternities and sororities play an
important role in supporting the mission of Monmouth College. Over forty percent of Monmouth College alumni are members of Greek
organizations. Not only does Greek Life provide a strong peer
structure but it helps students become well-balanced leaders.
WHY GO GREEK?
Career & Leadership Development Opportunities
Greeks have the benefit of being connected to
national organizations that promote leadership development through
conferences, seminars, training etc. Sororities and
fraternities allow students the opportunity to have not only
positions, but many responsibilities that can add value to a resume.
Monmouth College also offers some leadership programs exclusively
for members of Greek organizations.
Academic Support & Excellence
Each fraternity and sorority values academics and supports their
members through various means. Each organization has support
groups, tutoring, group study hours, study resources, scholarship
recognition and scholarships. The overall Greek GPA is higher
that the all campus GPA.
Social & Sport Activities
Greek life has a
plethora of planned social events that all Greeks can participate
in. Some events include skating parties, socials with other
Greek organizations, formal and informal dances, annual
Greek Week events,
recreation sports, spontaneous pickup games, just to name a few.
Lifelong Friends
During college incredible friendships are
made. Belonging to a sorority or a fraternity adds that much
more to the experience. The people you meet become your
brothers and sisters whom you share great moments and challenges
with along the way. It is a huge support network to help you
get through college, be your best man at your wedding and to grow
old with.

Career Networking
All national sororities and fraternities have some
sort of career network that can help connect you to your career path. Additionally, Monmouth College has a huge networking base. Give
the Wackerle Center a call and we can try to hook you up with someone
from your same Greek organization in the geographic location that you
would like to work in. This is a great way to connect!
Civic
Engagement / Service / Philanthropy Greek organizations were
founded on the service to others principle. Therefore, a core
value is to "give back to the community". Last year
Greek members volunteered over 1200 hours of their time and raised in excess of
$5,000 for various charities including the YMCA, American Cancer Society,
breast cancer research, and Warren County Library.
Lifetime Membership
When
you join a Greek organization you make a lifelong commitment. After college you can be involved as much or as little as you would like
to be. This includes getting involved in a local alumni
association and or becoming a national officer. Each fraternity
and sorority offers lifetime benefits for MEMBERS ONLY!
