The Office of Residence Life employs over fifty
Resident Assistants and Head Residents each year.
Working in Residence Life is an excellent way to
gain leadership skills and add to your resume.
You will also have the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference in the
lives of others.
There are
two types of student positions in Residence Life:
Head Resident
Head Residents are responsible for the total operation of the hall.
Their responsibilities include supervising the resident assistants
in hall, advising hall council, and handling referrals and less serious discipline cases.
Resident Assistant
Resident Assistants are responsible for creating an environment on their floors that are both
fun and educational. Each RA is responsible for
developing social and educational programs, providing counsel to students in times of need,
and directing residents to appropriate campus resources.
RA’s are required to be available for duty and to attend certain events throughout the
academic year. |
