Campus Security goes mobile

Just in time for the first snow of 2005, campus security at Monmouth College has a new set of wheels. The all-terrain Club Car, purchased from Quad City Golf Carts, sports large off road tires, driving lights and an enclosed cab with heat. "This new unit will give our security force more mobility," said associate dean of students, Mohsin Masood. "With the terrain of our campus, this will also shorten our response time to any part of campus."

The crime rate in the city of Monmouth and Monmouth College has traditionally been very low. But safety and security of  its students, faculty and staff  remains a high priority for Monmouth College.

There is at least one security officer present on campus every day from 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM Sunday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays two officers work.

Monmouth hires security services from Per Mar Security Services, a nationally recognized security company. We have professionally trained officers who work hard to make Monmouth College environment safe to live, learn and work.

The officers work very closely with the residence hall staff. They are equipped with walkie-talkie radios, cellular phones and ride golf carts to respond quickly to emergency situations.

Monmouth College security logs are available for review by the general public in room the Office of Student Affairs located in room 126 Poling Hall.
