Cheerleading Safety Policy
2009-2010
The Monmouth College cheerleading squad
will adhere to the following safety guidelines implemented by the American
Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA).
The following skills are prohibited at basketball and indoor courts under
the safety rules:
- Basket tosses, elevator tosses, and
other similar multi-based tosses
- Partner stunts in which the base uses
only one arm to support the top person
- Flips or twists into or from partner
stunts
- Two-and-one-half person high pyramids
- Twisting tumbling skills
Monmouth College will extend this policy
to include outdoor athletic venues, both home and away.
These safety rules will also be applied to any exhibition performances,
including the Homecoming Sprit Shout.
