Off-Campus Programs
2008-2009
While on off-campus programs, Monmouth College Policies as outlined in the
Scots Guide are in effect. The program director as an agent of the
institution has not only administrative responsibility but also
disciplinary authority and may, if he/she deems it necessary, terminate
program participation and send a student home (at the student's expense)
for safety or disciplinary reasons.
Students should take special note of the following with regard to alcohol
and controlled substances:
Alcohol
The
Monmouth College policy regarding alcohol requires students to abide by
the laws of the State of Illinois. Therefore, students on off-campus
programs are required to abide by the laws governing alcohol in the
country of residence and the laws of those countries visited. However,
regardless of the local laws, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES is
intoxication permissible. Students can expect that most countries do not
tolerate intoxication and should be aware that arrest is possible.
Narcotics and Controlled Substances
Monmouth College
policy is clear that the possession, use, abuse, distribution or
manufacture of narcotics, dangerous drugs, or hallucinogens is in
violation of College policy. This policy is applicable regardless of the
laws of other countries where a student may be residing or visiting.
