Theatre Department News Theatre Students Look Ahead to Busy
Summer With summer approaching, a number of Monmouth College theatre students have secured interesting positions. Below is a summary of where they will be working. Nick Munson is a Theatre Major and new APO member who will be performing in the role of Lun Tha in The King & I and supporting the props team for All Shook Up at the Quad City Music Guild. He will be returning as a Junior next fall. Brittany Van Etten is a theater major who will be caring for children all summer. She will return in the fall as a sophomore and Secretary of Crimson Masque. Mike Diamond is a math major and member of Alpha Psi Omega who will be interning with the Quad Cities River Bandits doing media production. He will be working the home games doing camera work and other miscellaneous jobs in the press box, as well as graphic design work when the team is out of town. He will be returning as a senior next year and is looking forward to being the Head Resident of Cleland Hall! Ryan Burns is a philosophy major who will be graduating from Monmouth in May and will immediately begin sending resumes and headshots to theater companies in the Chicago area. He is hoping to become a part of the improv acting scene and work with a troup like The Second City, Improv Kitchen, Audacity Theater or the like. Ken Yeater is a theater major who will be working on the technical crew for The Western Illinois University Summer Stock Theater. He will be assisting with construction and props for the Seussical the Musical, All Shook Up, and Little Shop of Horrors. He will be returning as a senior and a new member of Alpha Psi Omega, a National Theater Honorary Society. Kate Drost is a theater major and member of Alpha Psi Omega who will be working as a head wrangler and head equestrian art director at Camp Flaming Arrow in Hunt Texas. She will also be seen wrangling at the Diamond V Ranch in the same area. She will be returning as a senior and President of Crimson Masque. Stacy Field is a theater major and member of Alpha Psi Omega who will be interning at The North Light Theater Company in Skokie, Illinois. She will assist in most every area of theater as the company prepares for its summer youth camps and upcoming season. She will also have an opportunity to assist with all technical aspects of the summer youth productions. She will be returning as a senior and Vice President of Crimson Masque Missy Metz is an English and Theatre Education major who will be student teaching in the Fall. Also a member of Alpha Psi Omega, she will be spending the summer working at Old Towne School of Folk Music and Theater as a theater teacher in Chicago. She will be working with arts teachers from all over the U.S. to develop and facilitate a youth arts camp. Heather Hall is a theater major and member of Alpha Psi Omega who will be working with the Quad City Music Guild assisting the director and props designer for Seussical the Musical, and All Shook Up. She will be returning as a Junior next year! Jenny Erbes is a theater major and member of Alpha Psi Omega who will be working at the Pioneer Ampitheater in Canyon, Texas for TEXAS the Musical. She will be serving on the hospitality staff, giving tours and working in the box office. The amphitheater is nestled in the center of the beautiful Palo Duro Canyon. She will be returning as a Junior next year!
