Monmouth College Theatre Scholarship Information
Overview:
Scholarships are renewable for your time at Monmouth – you need not be a Theatre major/minor
to get a scholarship, and you are not required to take any theatre classes.
Typically, scholarships will range from $1000-$3000 each year.
Scholarships are awarded in acting as well as technical areas.
The only way you would lose a scholarship is to not fulfill requirements.
Requirements:
Actors/Actresses:
1. You are required to audition for all mainstage shows. Typically, there are 4 each year,
with auditions held at the beginning of each semester.
2. If you are cast in a show for that semester, that fulfills your requirements for that semester.
If you are not cast in a show, you will be need to put in 30 hours during that semester
working on productions. These hours and duties are flexible, and will be arranged with
Professor Doug Rankin.
Technicians:
You are required to work on theatre productions during the year. You will set up hours
and responsibilities with Professor Doug Rankin. Typically, you might head a run crew
for a show, or work in one of the lab areas (sets, lighting, costumes, makeup, etc.).
You will need to put in a minimum of 30 hours each semester working on productions.
