One-act plays close curtain on Monmouth College�s theater season

MONMOUTH, Ill. �The Monmouth College theater season will draw to a close April 29 through May 1 as six students make their directorial debuts in one-act plays. The performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. in The WIT Theatre, located in the basement of the college�s Haldeman-Thiessen Science Center.

Tickets are $2 and may be purchased at the door.

�The six student directors have cast more than 20 Monmouth students as actors and actresses to make their visions come alive on stage,� said assistant professor of theatre Janeve West. �They have been responsible for holding auditions, designing lights, getting props, working with actors to develop characters and polishing the show.�

West said the shows range from love stories to performances only mature audiences can handle. �You�ll laugh, you�ll cry � and maybe even be a bit horrified,� she said.

Due to the high number of directors, each night will have a different order and selection of shows. Some of the content seen during these performances will not be suitable for audience members under the age of 16.
