"Which Way Women's History?" The Women's and Gender Historians of the Midwest Biennial conference at the College of Mount St. Joseph, Cincinnati, Ohio, July 12 and 13, 2008. Women's and Gender histories have had a significant impact on the overall study and production of history, posing challenges to periodization, providing new methods for reviewing source material, and analyzing the social construction of individual roles in society. This conference seeks to examine the current state of these fields, what they have achieved, and what is still to be achieved. All topics in all areas of women's and gender history are welcome. Individuals interested in participating in this conference should submit via one of the following methods: INDIVIDUAL PAPERS: 1. An abstract of no more than 250 words Please note that individual papers may be combined into panel sessions. PANEL SESSIONS, ROUNDTABLE SESSIONS, OR WORKSHOP SESSIONS: A. Panel sessions may include up to four papers on similar topics. B. Roundtables are sessions in which panelists offer brief presentations, with the bulk of the session devoted to discussion among the panelists and audience members. C. Workshops are similarly devoted primarily to discussion, but individual presentations focus on practical problems in such areas as teaching, research, or activism. All three of these are traditionally introduced by a Chair, and are concluded by comments from a discussant. All session proposals require: 1. The name, email address, phone number, brief cv and
institutional affiliation of the proposer Please submit proposals to Professor Jennifer Morris, Conference Coordinator, at jennifer_morris@mail.msj.edu no later than 30 March 2008.
