Summary of What Was Discussed / Work Done:                  (Use additional page if necessary)

Monday, Sept. 17 the team met to revise the 3 W’s page.  Corrections were needed in each part of the assignment.  We changed the Who section to specify even further who are target market of trainees are. We also narrowed the list we previously had for the What section into two categories that would be of more value to the trainees.  In addition, we expanded our description of Where the trainees could be found and listed reasons as to why this training program is necessary for their life.  Below is the revised 3 W’s page.

3 W’s

Who:

For adult women who have recently graduated from college, are entering the work force, and are seeking negotiating skills to overcome obstacles such as bargaining a desired position and salary.

What:

Women will gain valuable knowledge and improve valuable skills in the following areas:

·        Assertiveness- developing a sense of one’s own dignity or worth in a bold, self-confident manner gaining pride, honor, self-esteem, confidence, and self-respect.

·        Bargain Power- coming to an agreement where both parties are equally satisfied.

Where:

EFN’s trainees can be found anywhere and everywhere.  Women who just graduated from c9ollege, community college, or universities who plan to work in small or large businesses/firms will benefit.  This training program will make women more effective during the interview process when discussing positions and salaries.  These skills will help women maintain a position and climb to higher levels of success.

Monday, Sept. 17 at 8:00 p.m.:  The team met to begin working on the objectives.  We were able to decide which objectives would work best for our training program, but had difficulty with writing the objectives.  We decided to meet the next night to finish writing the objectives.

Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 8:00 p.m.:  The team met and was able to finish the objectives.  Below is a rough draft of our teams’ objectives, and it is understood that we will need to revise them accordingly.

This was submitted to Professor McGaan on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

Thursday, Sept. 20:  The team met to attend the negotiating information meeting.  It proved to be extremely beneficial because it was a small group of students who attended and the speaker was able to talk with us about negotiating rather than lecturing.  He also had group activities for us that to help us understand certain key concepts.  He agreed to help our team with any questions we may have in the future and will provide us with more useful information that would be necessary for our training program.

Assignments for Future Work / Deadlines:

Monday, Sept. 17 the team agreed to attend the training session with Chris McRoberts on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Highlander Room called Getting to Yes: The Art of Negotiation.  This was decided to learn more and to better understand our topic.  We also agreed to meet at 8:00 p.m. in the library to begin working on our training objectives.

8:00 p.m.: We agreed to meet the next night to finish the objectives.

Tuesday, Sept. 17 we all agreed again we would definitely attend the training seminar on Thursday.  Certain books were traded between us and we agreed to read certain sections that would benefit our project.

Our Assessment of Team Work and Task Progress (Strengths and Weaknesses):

The teams’ strengths are as follows:  each individual member continues to work well with one another through listening and understanding.   Each member is taking their job seriously and even does work on their own. We are growing to trust one another, which will only benefit us in the long run.

Our weaknesses are as follows: not understanding a few of our objectives.  It was difficult for us to word the objectives appropriately because certain concepts were confusing.  Also, by the end of this we began running out of actions words to use, which also made it difficult to finish the homework.
