“Effective Listening”

Three W’s

Who- The Firm will be focusing on teaching listening skill to college undergrads (specifically freshman). In the future we plan on expanding this program to include students on academic probation, voluntary college undergrads who wish to improve their listening skills, and teacher education programs. Our last expansion of our program will be into the professional world with focuses on doctors, nurses, lawyers, human resources divisions of companies, management and hiring divisions.

What- Our program will teach college freshman listening skills and how to demonstrate them. We will teach them how body language, note taking, and responsive listening are all key elements. We will teach them how to identify what is important to take notes on (i.e. not writing down anecdotes). They will learn the various body language clusters of listening. Also, they will learn the ways of using responsive listening and how they can tune out major and minor distractions.

Where - Our consulting team will focus (for now) on educating college freshman on the finer points of effective listening. We will find our clients by approaching various institutions of higher learning and offering our product. We will initially offer our product to colleges that have introduction classes for college later expanding into all colleges and universities. Finally, we will expand into the professional world
