Outlines for CATA 101
Rankin
Outlines for your three major speeches are very important parts of your grade in this class. The main purpose of these outlines is to help you organize your material and to make it easy for your instructor and classmates to follow your thought process.
Whereas there are many different formats for composing an outline, in this class you are prescribed a specific format. By following this format to the letter, you will be graded on a consistent basis along with the outlines of your classmates.
One of the key elements of your outline is the margin labeling. You must include all necessary labels in order to get full credit.
For an example of a complete outline, please visit this link, or this link. You do not need to put the audience analysis section at the end of the outline as was done in the second sample.
