Summary of
What Was Discussed / Work Done: (Use additional page if necessary)
Monday,
Sept. 10 the team met to develop the 3 W’s page, which consists of who
are clients will be, what valuable information our clients will gain
from our negotiating training program, and where we will locate our clients. Below is the outline of the 3 W’s page our
team developed.
Who: For adult
women, eighteen years of age and up, who are seeking negotiating skills to
achieve personal and/or occupational goals.
What:
Women
will gain valuable knowledge and improve valuable skills in the following areas
while gaining assertiveness and self-confidence needed in everyday situations:
·
Working relationships
·
Leadership training
·
Improved interpersonal and learning skills
·
Team building and problem solving
·
Decision making and management
·
Bargaining power
·
Personal needs
Where:
EFN’s
trainees can be found anywhere and everywhere.
Women in college, community colleges, those who work in small or large
businesses (of all kinds), etc. will benefit.
It would be preferable that these women live in and/or around urban and
city areas (unless they have transportation) since our training facility will
be situated in these various locations.
Of
course, in regards to the 3 W’s page, our team understands this is a rough
draft and may need to edit, add to, or change certain aspects in which Chet
sees fit.
Wednesday,
Sept. 12 the team met again to discuss new information and resources all team
members researched independently.
During last week the team narrowed the field of our negotiating training
program, and consequently needed new and additional information to work
with. Because we narrowed the topic
most of the material we previously had became irrelevant. We therefore began sorting through the piles
of information and separated out what we no longer needed. This was a necessary task if we wish to
train our clients to our best potential.
Assignments
for Future Work / Deadlines:
Monday,
Sept. 10 it was agreed by the team that we would independently find new
resources and material needed in our learning and understanding of
negotiating. We agreed to meet on
Wednesday, Sept. 13 to go over new material and sort through what we needed to
continue this project.
Wednesday,
Sept. 13 we agreed to each read certain parts of our negotiating material
independently, and during our next meeting on Monday, Sept. 17 we will educate
the other team members of what we learned. This will lessen the reading load
for each individual and help each other understand the material together.
Our
Assessment of Team Work and Task Progress (Strengths and Weaknesses):
The
teams’ strengths are as follows: each
individual member is still continuing to work well with one another. We still listen as each team member
expresses concerns, questions, and ideas. We all consider everyone’s ideas and collectively decide which
approach to take as a team. Each team
member is still completing her assigned work before the due date and has met at
the scheduled meeting times.
Our
weaknesses are as follows: trying to find the right material that will help us
in developing our training program. We
had piles of material previously, but because the team is more focused on our
topic we found it necessary to get rid of and find new material. Trying to fit this process into our busy
life-style is also being problematic; however, we, as a team, are confident we
can improve this area and still manage to find time to handle this.
