Why is scientific data important to this field?

I'm sure you are wondering why all this information is important.  Well, we study animals for many reasons, a lot of which are scientific reasons.  The scientific data collected from the study of animals is very important for many reasons.  This data tells scientists or workers every piece of information about an animal such as, its physical aspects, its weaknesses, its diet, its digestive system, etc.  All of this data, along with more, can help us to understand better the way of life for certain animals which can result in helping them to live better lives and in the long run it can help human life as well.  For example, if paleontologists study the scientific data of fossils, it can aid other scientists in understanding animals of the past and the present.  These paleontologist dig up fossils and piece them together to understand what they are and they can even date this data to understand the time period it was in.

Why is important to use this data ethically?

The ethical use of this scientific data is important because animal lives often depend upon it.  If we, as humans, did not study animals and collect data about them, then they would have no hope of existing fully.  We study every aspect of an animal's life, which allows us to aid that animal if it is in danger or even dying.  We are able to use the data we collect to help animals live better lives, and if used unethically then these animals would have no chance and it would be our fault.

If this scientific data is used unethically, it could result in many things.  For one, the animals could have their diets messed up and get sick or underfed.  In the worst case scenario, animals could lose their lives and even become endangered or extinct.
