Jason K. Johnson is the newest member of our staff. He will be graduating from Monmouth College in May of this year. As an undergraduate, Jason majored in Biology/Pre-Medicine, with minors in chemistry and history. He has twenty-two credit hours in Biology and twenty credit hours in chemistry, which makes him a nice addition to our staff. At Monmouth College, he was able to master the techniques of Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP), bacterial cell transformation/cloning, protein purfication, agarose gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, and Ultraviolet Spectroscopy. Jason is currently working the purification and characterization of the Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP). He is also conducting research on the relationship between grasshoppers and parasites. Jason is looking to perform other projects dealing with protein purification and characterization.
