2017 FOX WRITING CONTEST AT MONMOUTH COLLEGE

The Department of Classics at Monmouth College, Monmouth, Illinois, is proud to announce the winners of the thirty-first annual Bernice L. Fox Classics Writing Contest.  The topic of this year's contest, open to all high school students, was "A Figure from Classical History, Literature, or Mythology as the Next President of the United States:  Make a pitch for a classical figure as president, or depict that person acting as president, or on the campaign trail."  This year there were 105 entries from 24 schools in 19 states, as well as the United Kingdom and Poland.

The winner of the $250 cash award is Ben Dahan of Beverly Hills High school in Beverly Hills, California.  Ben's teacher is Ms. Ann-Marie Fine.  You can view the winning entry here.
