The theme of CLAS230 Classical Mythology this semester is an examination of the myths of ancient Greece and Rome in the context of world mythology. Particular focus will be placed on myths of creation and destruction and on mythic world views.

Some of the questions addressed in this course include: How was the world created? Who created the world? How did humans come to exist? Why is human life so difficult? Why do we die?
