Juggling with Articles

Each student is to bring any item they chose to class.  All the items brought to class should be placed together in a single pile.  Then divide the class into groups of four or five.  Each member of the group will pick any item from the pile.  First, each member has to say what item they have chosen.  Then, each group needs to come up with a story using each of the items in their group.  They may use some of the items more than once and have to use the correct article.

For example, a group may have a pencil, an apple, a shoe, and a doll.  Here is one story they could come up with:  A doll went to the store to buy a pencil for the first day of school.  The pencil had to be #2. The doll's name was Barbie.  Along the way to the store, the shoelace on the doll's shoe ripped.  So, when Barbie got to the store, she had to buy a new shoelace along with the pencil.  The next day, Barbie went to school.  She brought an apple for the teacher.
