Excel 2016 New Features
- Flash Fill - As you enter data in a column or
across a row, Flash Fill will identify the pattern and automtically
fill the remaining cells based on that pattern.
- Quick Analysis - You can now quickly apply
formatting, create a chart or table, insert totals, and more by
selecting your data, clicking the Quick Analysis
button, and selecting the desired option.
- Recommended Charts - Recommended Charts, which
is located on the Insert tab, displays previews of
your data using charts that best suit your data.
- Chart Formatting Buttons - When you click a
chart, the Chart Elements, Chart Styles, and Chart Filters buttons
appear and provide you with quick access to chart formatting
commands.
- Recommended PivotTables - Recommended
PivotTables, which is located on the Insert tab,
displays previews of your data using PivotTables that best suit your
data.
- New Chart Types - New chart types in Excel 2016
include Treemap, Sunburst, Waterfall, Histogram, Pareto, Funnel, and Box and
Whisker.
- Bing Maps - Bing Maps (on the Insert
tab) is an add-in app that you can use to plot data on a map.
- People Graph - People graph (on the
Insert tab) is an add-in that you can use to represent data
in graphical form using people icons.
- Tell me what you want to do
- When you enter a word or phrase (e.g., insert chart) in the Tell
me what you want to do text box, a drop-down list with
related commands displays for quick access.
- Smart Lookup -When you right-click a word or
phrase and choose Smart Lookup, a list of definitions, Wiki articles, and top search results
from the web appears on the Insights pane.
- Ink Equations - The Ink Equation
command enables you to insert an equation by writing it.
- Share Button - Clicking the
Share button enables
you to quickly save a file to your OneDrive or to a SharePoint site
or email a file as an attachment.
