September 2021 Technology Workshops
The Information Services Office is offering the technology workshops listed below during the month of September. Workshops are open to all faculty, staff, and students. Introduction to Moodle
Thursday, September 9, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Hewes Library 124
This workshop is designed for faculty who have never used Moodle before or
who would like to review basic material. In this workshop, you'll learn how to
set up a new course site, upload files, create assignments, get started with the
gradebook, and more.
Office 365 Overview
Tuesday, September 14, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Hewes Library 124
With Office 365, MC students, faculty, and staff have 50 GB of email
storage space, the ability to install MS Office on up to five personal
devices for free, access to Microsoft online apps, and more. In this
workshop, you'll take a tour of Office 365 and learn about its features.
You'll also learn how to perform common tasks in OneDrive, Outlook Web
App, and Word Online.
Using the Moodle Gradebook
Thursday, September 16, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Hewes Library 124
This workshop provides a more in-depth look at the Moodle
gradebook and its features. In this workshop, you'll learn how to add
items to the gradebook for activities that students don't complete in
Moodle, add extra credit items, drop lowest scores, add bonus points,
clear grade overrides, hide grades, and more.
Getting Started with OneDrive & SharePoint
Tuesday, September 21, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

OneDrive is Microsoft’s cloud-based file storage service that comes free
with your Monmouth College Office 365 subscription. SharePoint is a
platform that provides a range of collaboration tools for groups,
including document storing and sharing. In this workshop, you’ll learn
how to access OneDrive and SharePoint, upload and share files, edit
files, and more.
Creating Assignments in Moodle
Thursday, September 23, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Hewes Library 124
The Moodle assignment activity can be configured in different
ways depending upon the type of assignment that you want to create. (For
example, you can create an assignment where students upload files, enter
their answers directly in Moodle, or both.) In this workshop, you'll
learn how to create several different types of Moodle assignments
(including a group assignment), how to grade and enter feedback for
assignments, and more.
Introduction to Excel
Tuesday, September 28, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

This workshop introduces you to Microsoft Excel
2010. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to enter data
on a worksheet, format numbers and dates, apply borders
and shading to worksheet cells, create and use simple
formulas, prepare worksheets for printing, and more.
