Michelle Sherman

After spending two years as a full-time journalist, Michelle Anstette Sherman, '07 made a career change and became a librarian at a small library. She still freelances occasionally for The Register-Mail in Galesburg, where she worked from 2007-2009 as the education reporter.

Michelle married Aaron Sherman in November 2008, and they live in Yates City.

She runs a book review blog, http://www.literarilyspeaking1.blogspot.com

Michelle says the most valuable experiences she had while at Monmouth weren't really experiences. Instead, the most valuable part of her Monmouth education were the people she met while she was a student, whether they were part of the student body or the faculty. "The friends I made at Monmouth are some of the best I've ever known."

As far as actual educational experiences, though, she thinks her independent study directing Othello was a very valuable experience. "It taught me a lot about self-reliance, leadership and helped me develop some serious organizational skills."
