Continuing its 90th
season, the Monmouth College
Department of Theatre will bring
Susan Yankowitz’s “Night Sky” to the
Wells Theater. Performances will be
Feb. 25-27 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 28
at 2 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased
online. The cost is $7
for adults, $6 for seniors and
students, and $5 for students and
faculty with a Monmouth College ID.
“Night Sky” follows
Anna, an astronomer who suffers a
traumatic head injury after being
hit by a car. The resulting aphasia
causes her to lose her ability to
speak. The play follows her journey
to reconnect and rebuild her family
and herself.
Two Monmouth
seniors, Ellen Johnson of Kewanee
and Jill Turley of Greenville, are
co-directing the show.
“The struggles we
have to overcome in our everyday
lives, the major changes, and the
rebuilding of ourselves is truly
what ‘Night Sky’ is about,” said
Johnson.
Added Turley, “We
hope to bring the connection of our
collaboration as directors and the
connection between Anna and the
universe alive on our stage.”
“Night Sky” contains
mature language and is not
recommended for anyone under the age
of 13.
