Artaud
Directed by Brian Rowe
Cast:
Young Man: Kevin Mark Woessner
Young Girl: Laurel Buckley
Knight: John Snowdon
Wet-Nurse: Brittany Alston
Bawd/Beadle/Priest: Tiela Halpin
Antonin Artaud created a number of plays based in his Theatre of Cruelty manifesto. This show, The Jet of Blood, was written but never performed in Artaud's lifetime. The story centers around the love of the Young Man and Young Girl, but from there it goes into very absurdist territory. The show centers around themes of heartache and the vortex, a hurricane created to pull the audience into the world of the play.
