Rissa Inman - Assistant
Stage Manager
Feb. 1, 2008
Hello! I am Rissa Inman and I am the assistant stage
manager and head prop master. The first week of rehearsal has
been
interesting. I have learned a few things about the script that I did not
realize with my first read through, but I can’t
give anything away! ;) The
rehearsal process this week has been mostly blocking, and this is new for me as
a stage
manager. I have done blocking before, but never as a stage manager.
It’s interesting to learn how to write down
everyone’s blocking and not just my
own. It has been fun but hard work too! Well, as for the first week this is all
I have! I hope everyone enjoys the production of Waiting for Godot!

This weeks rehearsal has
been very interesting. This week, as the ASM, I have played almost
every part in the production. I must say that my least favorite part to
play is Pozzo. As fun as it is to throw a fit, and crawl around on the
floor, its very tough work. I think all the actors are doing an amazing
job, and getting their lines down! The rehearsal process should get
easier once we can begin working in our space again. It has been very
interesting working in various classrooms and the Highlander room while
waiting for our set to get built! I can't wait for the work we will do
this week on our stage!

As the final days of Godot were
coming to an end, I was excited! I thought "I get my life back!" But I realize
that I wish the rehearsals could have gone on forever! I miss it so much! Even
if this was a frustrating show because Godot never comes! (to be honest I wanted
to put a shirt on that said "Godot" and run across the stage!!!!) I love the
show, but more importantly I love the cast and crew I had the privilege of
working with! I want to use this final blog to thank everyone that worked so
hard! I want to thank the entire cast for memorizing so quickly and putting so
much work into this production. Lauren for showing me the way of SMing, and
Janeve for putting together a great show! Also, for Janeve, thanks for putting
up with our side comments and fun times that made you blush like a 12 year old
at a Backstreet Boys concert! I would also like to thank the support from all
the staff members and the audience! Finally I am going to say this.......(get
it...you are supposed to wait for my final comment...like Godot?!?!?) so finally
I would like to.................................................................................................................................................. |
