The Wells Theater,
is a state-of-the-art facility. It features computerized lighting
control, a counterweighted fly system, large scenic and costume studios, a
design studio with a CAD system and plotter as well as
several Mac computers, and computerized
front-of-house operations. Crimson Masque, the department’s drama
society, involves well over 100 students each year in four faculty
directed productions. Additionally, substantial opportunities for
student directing, playwriting, acting and designing are available each
year. The recently established "W.I.T.
Studio Theatre" in
the lower level of Haldeman-Theissen Center offers an experimental,
"black-box" space primarily dedicated to student projects and
productions, substantially increasing the opportunities for students to
pursue projects of their own design and interest.
