About Us

Mission Statement
The goals and purposes of Crimson Masque are to, as a whole, encourage participation, both active and passive, and to foster the cultural level of the Monmouth College community through the theatrical division of the fine arts. Crimson Masque is an educational forum designed to encourage discussion and participation as well as to expose our members and the campus community to new ideas, methods, styles, and technology through the availability of productions, meetings, workshops, events, and general meetings.

Crimson Masque Requirements
Any person enrolled at Monmouth College may become a voting member of Crimson Masque if he/she fulfills the following two requirements:
Participation in at least two major productions as an actor or a technical crew member. Compilation of at least four (4) Crimson Masque points.

The membership role is updated at the end of each semester. To retain "active voting membership status" an individual must: Work in some capacity on at least one production per academic year. Attend at least l/2 of the full body meetings/committee meetings/activities per semester unless otherwise excused by the executive board.
The classes of membership are as follows:
Apprentice – Any person who is working or has worked on a Crimson Masque production but has not fulfilled the requirements for voting membership. A voting member who does not participate in a play insome capacity over the period of one year or does not fulfill the attendance requirement in section C.2 moves back to Apprentice status until such a time that they participate sufficiently again.
Voting Member – Any person who has fulfilled the requirements as listed in I.A. above.
Key Members – Any person who has compiled (20) or more Crimson Masque points.

The Crimson Masque point system is based on the point assignment system found in the National Collegiate Players Constitution. A copy of this system may be found in Appendix I of this document.
