Gene Doping    

           

        A man by the name of Dr. Lee Sweeney has created the gene that produces IGF-1, the body’s main growth hormone with the purpose of treating muscular diseases or simply strengthening weak muscles of the elderly.  “The gene and the elevated growth hormone level it produces is trapped within the muscle tissue.  It’s prevented from leaving and the blood levels are normal,” said Sweeney, chairman of the physiology department at the University of Pennsylvania.  In this process
