Teaching Interests
I have an avid interest in cinema studies and
humorous literature. My 110 classes explore issues
of suspense and mystery in the class literature
unit, another interest of mine. I am also
interested in exploring issues in the secondary
English classroom in my methods course, analyzing
the role of teacher in the public school.
Research Interests
My research areas include the literary history and
cultural history of Illinois, film studies, humorous
Twentieth Century short stories, writings of A. C.
Doyle, and regional folklore.
About Kevin Roberts
My
students know that I have an avid interest in the films
of Alfred Hitchcock, but they may not know that I am
also an avid fan of Sherlock Holmes, enjoying his
exploits and pastiches in print and film. I also enjoy
the hobbies of model railroading and collecting

items.
