Advertising Law Resource Center  A wide variety of links and information concern law as it pertains to advertising and marketing.

Amercian Communication Association The best single source for on-line information and research in communication. Links to many other excellent sites.

American Rhetoric  A site dedicated to providing a wealth of information on rhetoric and American Public Address, including a "speech bank" with audio, text and video of over 5000 American speeches, illustrations of rhetorical figures (techniques), the rhetoric of 9-11, news and information sources and especially, the Top 100 American Speeches of the 20th Century  A complete index to and partial database of full text transcriptions of the 100 most significant American political speeches of the 20th century, according to 137 leading scholars of American public address. Some 30% of the speeches are available in audio (mp3 or Real Audio) format.

Annenberg Public Policy Center (U. of Pennsylvania) research and policy papers on issues related to communication, mass media, public policy (e.g. political campaigns); plus links to the Annenberg School of Communication.

Business Valuation from LexisNexis.  a site for research on business valuation and the procedures used to estimate the economic value of a business.

(Communication) theory.org.uk is a website of materials about popular culture, the mass media and its relationship to people's identities, lives, gender and behaviour. See resources for info, essays, reviews, links and more.

Comserve A center for communication scholars and researchers. A wide range of Email lists by topic. An excellent serach engine for finding articles in a wide range of communication journals. Access to article abstracts, tables of contents and some full journal texts. Some access is available to the public other services require membership.

Critical Thinking Skills (in your career).  This guide addresses helps college students know how to assess their critical thinking skills and improve them, preparing them for the start of their careers.

Cyberstudies Resource Center A location with information and links concerning the idea of cybernetic culture (the internet, etc.) and computer mediated communication.

Electronic Frontier Foundation   Excellent information on freedom and privacy in cyberspace

ERIC Clearinghouse.  A good source for bibiliographies and abstracts of scholarly writing on Reading, English and Communication social science.

First Amendment Resources from the Amaerican Library Association  - resource for people wanting to learn about the First Amendment. Includes nlinks to a wide range of topics.

Focus Group Design and Methods - CATA selected links to resources for conducting focus group research.

University of Iowa Communication Studies Links.  Resources for communication students selected by the folks at the Communication Studies program at Iowa. Worth checking out for serious communication research links.  Strong on cultural studies, visual communication advertising and media.

International Association of Business Communicators The Professional organization for business communications with networking, membership, and resources related to business communication.

McLuhan Website Project aims to be a hypermedia education resource, introducing students to communication studies through the work of Canadian theorist and educator Marshall McLuhan. The site is comprised of four engaging sections: M, Probe, Explorations, and Collide-Oscope. M provides a brief history of McLuhan's life and work as well as a bibliography. Probe, an interactive tutorial section, contains four modules introducing the ideas and concepts of the "Toronto School" of communication studies. Explorations offers four case studies in modern media, allowing students to apply what they learned in the Probe modules. Collide-Oscope, which is currently in development, will be an educational game, teaching students about McLuhan's four laws of media.

National Communication Association The national association for professionals and educators in communication. Many services available. Links to resources. A good place to begin the search for graduate programs in communication.

Parliamentary Procedure Resources. Many links including the Robert's Rules Web site from the Antional Association of Parliamentarians

Political Campaign Materials links.  Sources for political ads, speeches, debates, etc.

Semiotics Resources Good background information (definitions, basic sources) on the science of semiotics plus links to related sites.

Vanderbilt Television News Archives The single best (often the only) place to find newscast video records. They index and maintain video copies of all network newscast going back to 1968. Individual newscasts can be ordered from this archive.
